You’re playing a World War II shooter, but do you want your voice chat to sound like a WWII radio? Of course you don’t.
Imvox strikes the perfect balance between voice quality and performance. High quality, low bandwidth and CPU usage are key to your experience.
Codecs deal with the compression of your audio and directly effect quality. The wrong codec can use too much CPU, bandwidth or memory. imVOX uses the SILK and CELT codecs which provide amazing quality with minimal impact to your gaming experience. Not only that, but system automatically optimizes the settings to maximize your experience. No messing with technical settings required!
Both Windows and Mac clients enjoy access to the same codecs for the same high quality experience. Unlike other services where Mac users are sequestered into low-quality servers, all users can inter-operate seamlessly.
Imvox offers real voice mixing. This means our servers mix together all of the audio signals and deliver you with a single, high quality audio stream. Competing services just route the audio, providing no audio processing, enhancement or optimization along the way. So on competing services if 10 users speak at once, you suddenly have 10 audio streams using your bandwith and CPU. With Imvox, you only have one.
You know that guy that keeps playing his favorite music during your raid? He’s no longer an issue. Just mute him. Everyone else can still hear them until they mute them too.
Or perhaps someone is just too quiet. Full volume control, including boost is available on each user. Your settings however don’t effect the experience of other users.
Using a headset is great, but sometimes you just can’t. Our multi-stage acoustic echo cancellation will help stop nasty feedback, echos and noise in its tracks.
Our client and server each perform audio enhancement through compression, limiting and equalization of the audio signal in a transparent and pleasing way.
